Images and alert box above will appear on your screen if Windows find that you're using illegal copy of Windows while updating its system.  We can do pre-emptive action like turn off Windows Automatic Update since the first time Windows installed.  Some of you are willing to waste some time for backupping the system and reinstall it, or maybe you will buy/download new system with different serial keys.  If you don't want to waste your time to do all those thing, it would be better if you try a free operating system like Ubuntu from Linux distribution.
Ubuntu itself is well-known free operating system thas is very user friendly and eye-catching dekstop display.  Canonical Ltd., the developer company of Ubuntu decide to distribute it for free wherever you want.  You can install the system using your local language, and users are free to modificate the system without worrying  about its copyright.
When you have installed Ubuntu to your computer, you will get some basic programs like Libre Office (Microsoft Office-like word processor), Mozilla Firefox, and Mozilla Thunderbird.  You can download other free or paid applications at Ubuntu Software Center, i.e. GIMP, a photoshop-like application in Linux.  If you want some of Windows program work on your computer, you may download Wine, because Windows' program extension (i.e. *.exe) could not be executed as you work on Windows.  Even though you have Wine or any other virtual machine, Wine can not guarantee that all Windows-based programs will work properly on Ubuntu because Windows applications are for Windows system only.  Another flaw of Linux is limited amount of drivers that will work properly on Linux.  But the new version of Ubuntu (Ubuntu 11.10/ Oneiric Ocelot) has supported most of Windows hardware.  Well, if you want to install Ubuntu to your computer, the first thing you have to do is check whether your hardware is working on Linux or not.
Finally, if you want to use your computer for office or to do a simple task without powerful application, then Ubuntu is the best choice.  Just a little adaptation and learn Terminal (Windows-like Command Prompt) then you will find Ubuntu useful to do all computer activities.
